This Calendar Stuff Makes me Crazy, but...

Mikal Shabbat is making the argument that today (October 20, 2021) is the true Rosh Hashanah. Because I am mystified every time someone points out why they believe THEIR calendar is God’s calendar, I’m in no position to argue with him. We all have our gifts, and a calendar just isn’t mine. Most of the time I couldn’t even tell you what day of the week it is.

Well, today a dear sister in Christ shared Mikal’s conclusion and I started to wonder how one would celebrate Rosh Hashanah, anyway? I grew up Gentile. Catholic to be precise, and they don’t follow God’s feast days in the least. Right now, I’m Christmas- and Easter-avoidant. It’s not that I don’t celebrate the birth of Christ Jesus, or his resurrection. I do! I really love these moments. I just question the timeline we’ve been sold. The timeline I’ve been sold.

Side note: my former employer wanted me to put out Christmas decorations in October, amidst the Halloween cards. I did not comply for several reasons.

But I digress.

Here’s what Wikihow had to say about celebrating Rosh Hashanah. The bullet points are summarized below, after the web link.

https://www.wikihow.com/Celebrate-Rosh-Hashanah

  1. Reflect on your past and contemplate your future.
  2. Take a ritual bath on the eve of Rosh Hashanah.
  3. Attend Rosh Hashanah services at your synagogue.
  4. Listen to the shofar. If it falls on a Sabbath, no shofar is blown.
  5. Observe "casting off", by going to a flowing body of water and emptying pockets into it.=
  6. Say the Rosh Hashanah blessings for the candles, wine, and bread.
  7. Eat apples dipped in honey symbolizing a sweet new year, or a pomegranate.

At first glance, these seem like nice things to do. But, as with Sabbath rituals that are man-made, it’s easy to get caught up in the “what” of Rosh Hashanah, and totally miss out on the “why.” I started to take a closer look, and was blessed by what I saw.

First, let’s talk Rapture.

I know…some of you hate it when I talk about that. But consider this. When you look at all of scripture as talking of the coming of Jesus Christ, isn’t it every bit as appropriate to talk about how we get to him, whether natural death, martyrdom, rapture, or surviving tribulation? I say it is.

So, in the context of Rapture, could we look at the celebration of Rosh Hashanah as a template for preparation for the Rapture? Here’s what it looks like.

1.      Reflect on your past and contemplate your future. This is an important first step. It involves taking stock of one’s life and being honest about what we’re not doing well, or not doing at all. Even what we’re doing, but we’re not supposed to be doing. If you contemplate and come to the conclusion that you’re a nice enough person on your own, and don’t need a savior, you’re doing it wrong. Just saying.

2.       Take a ritual bath on the eve of Rosh Hashanah. If the conclusion you came to about your life is that you need a savior, step two is good news for you. Take a moment to be washed in the cleansing blood of Jesus, who served as an atoning sacrifice for each of us because we could never be washed clean enough on our own. Maybe this even symbolizes baptism.

3.       Attend Rosh Hashanah services at your synagogue. It's a convocation! I don’t think this is about dressing up and getting fancy. The services have Rosh Hashana-eve, Day 1, and Day 2. Interesting to note that Day 2 has a moment when the curses for the coming year for those who will perish in the coming year by “water, who by fire, who by sword, who by hunger…” Those who show repentance, prayer, charity are spared, and instead avert the curses. It reminds me of Gerizim and Ebal.

4.       Listen to the shofar. If it falls on a Sabbath, no shofar is blown. The Shofar is what we’re all waiting to hear, isn’t it? This is the call to bring us to God.

5.       Observe "casting off", by going to a flowing body of water and emptying pockets into it. This one is considered “casting off of sins.” I’m not sure how one can do that, but perhaps it suggests letting things go and letting God take them away – like forgiveness? Or, maybe it represents a spiritual circumcision of sorts.

6.       Say the Rosh Hashanah blessings for the candles, wine, and bread. Ah! The great point of offering thanks and praise to God, who has blessed us with light, atonement, and spiritual food. Maybe like a wedding supper!

7.       Eat apples dipped in honey, or a pomegranate. The apples dipped in honey are supposed to represent a sweet new year. Pomegranates, according to tradition, contain 613 seeds like the 613 commandments in Judaism. I don’t know much about them, and just try to focus on the 10 commandments, but it’s an interesting idea.

So what do you think? Could Rosh Hashanah tradition portray something more, like a rapture template to follow for sanctification?

You decide. Pray and ask for guidance. In any case, it’s another example of God’s perfect word showing us a deeper meaning behind beautiful tradition. I love it.

Eyes up!

  1. Yes calendars are impossible to figure out, I tend to think God's handiwork in the heavens play an important role in the determination of the Feast days, but,,,,
look at this, and it's from the Zohar,,

I understand the Zohar is not part of the Bible,, but check this out.
In the Zohar verse 480, it mentions year 73.
    Zohar 480
In the 73rd year, THAT IS, SEVEN YEARS AFTER MESSIAH BEN JOSEPH WAS REVEALED, all the kings of the world shall assemble in the great city of Rome. And the Holy One, blessed be He, will shower fire and hail and meteoric stones upon them, until they are wiped out from the world. And only those kings who did not go to Rome will remain in the world. And they shall return and wage other wars. During this time, the King Messiah will declare himself throughout the whole world, and many nations will gather around him together with many armies from all corners of the world. And all the children of Yisrael will assemble together in their places.

Could that be the 73rd year of Israel being a nation? 1948-2021.

The G20 is scheduled for Oct 30-31st, 2021 this year in Rome. On Halloween, Satan's most revered celebration.
Chinese President Xi Jinping will not be in attendance. Might Putin back out as well?

Meteors have been sighted all over the globe lately. Over 10,000 a day at this Antarctic Meteor Radar site. https://ccar.colorado.edu/meteors/meteors

The second part of the Rev 12 sign speaks of the red dragon(Satan) casting to Earth 1/3 of the stars, (asteroids), before the woman gives birth. (the rapture)
Then the woman flees to safety.(Israel)

The 8th and final day of the Feast of Tabernacles occurs on Oct 27-31st?

The menorah is lit from the outer candles to the center candle. Might this represent the spring Feasts being fulfilled in order while the fall Feasts may be fulfilled in reverse order?

As Chinese President Xi Jinping will not be there, might they try to blame China, calling it a “nuclear attack”, a reason to start WW3?

Dr. Horn wrote about this in 2010 saying:
Widely considered the most important work of Jewish Kabbalah, the Zohar is a collection of books written in medieval Aramaic over seven hundred years ago containing mystical commentary on the Pentateuch (five books of Moses, the Torah). In addition to interpreting Scripture, the “Vaera” section (volume 3, section 34) includes “The signs heralding Mashiach,” or “The coming of the Messiah.” The fascinating date for “his” secret presentation to orthodox Jews is set in the Zohar …
    J. R. Church of Prophecy in the News called my office recently and led me through verses 476–483 of this part of the Zohar to point out what nobody, as far as I have been able to find,—that the time of Jacob’s trouble (the Great Tribulation) will commence according to this ancient text when the “kings of the earth” gather in Rome and are killed by meteoric stones from the sky.
Interestingly,,,, a few have pointed to a prophecy by Malachy O’Morgair, or “St. Malachy” as he is known to Catholics, having to do with “the last pope.” The prophecy, taken from St. Malachy’s “Prophecy of the Popes,” is among a list of verses predicting each of the Roman Catholic popes from Pope Celestine II to the final pope, “Peter the Roman,” whose reign would end in the destruction of Rome. According to Malachy’s prophecy, the next pope (following Benedict XVI) is to be the final pontiff, Petrus Romanus, or “Peter the Roman.” He will assume authority during a time of great tribulation, and then “the city of seven hills will be destroyed, and the terrible and fearsome Judge will judge his people.”

    Vayera: Verse 480 Zohar.

Might this be the start of the Tribulation, the "time of Jacob's trouble"?

Might we flay away before? Possibly the 24th, a day "some' say is the day the door to the ark was closed? We'll soon see.

    1. I now see others, Putin from Russia, and other leaders of the BRICS countries may also not be in attendance.
The BRICS countries set up a central bank, to circumvent the hegemonic use of the US dollar. They include Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa.
The Japanese president will also not be attending.

  2. That's very interesting.

I have heard that this would be the last pope. I had not heard about the 73rd year reference in the Zohar. I would guess the Messiah they are referring to is not OUR Messiah, but rather the counterfeit.

Dies that mean their Ben Josef was revealed to them in 2014? Have there been any significant claims about him being revealed? It seems I've heard some snippets about him being there, in Israel, already.

I had a motion that the menorah is fulfilled based on where Jesus is. When he was here, the menorah went thru the spring feasts. If you imagine the menorah in a fixed position, and spring feasts starting on one side, then the fall feasts might start on that same side based on it taking place from heaven.

It's hard for me to explain, but the Torah encoding (TORH, TORH, YHVW, HROT, HROT), generally chiastic nature of scripture, and the Hebrew L to R and Greek R to L, all point to the same pattern. Just an idea I'm noodling.

It's also in the Civil year vs. Spiritual year model...six months apart but same pattern.

Everything leads to the Center candle. Every time one starts counting from the outside, the center is number 4 (the door). Even counting knops from the bottom of the center candle to the top ends in 4.

    444. Perfect love.

I believe this is it. These days are the culmination of many pieces of information given to countless watchmen. Pastor Sandy Armstrong says he was assured by God that he would not celebrate his 60th birthday here, and it's on the 26th.

That would be absolutely lovely. I am so ready to shake this dust off my feet.

    Blessings!

    1. Also, Oct 31st may be Cheshvan 17, the day the Flood began. Dr. Ken Johnson, Dead Sea Scroll Calendar

Then in the first week of November, "The Day of the Dead" is celebrated in Mexico.
      IS that a coincidence? Zohar/G20/Rome/flood/73rd year/DOD
We'll soon see. God Bless you

There have been several claims over the last few years the messiah has revealed himself to a select few in Israel.?
